Facebook Fan pages are an excellent way to promote yourself and your
business. There are many advantages of a fan page.

Let's look at the basics:

What is the difference between a personal profile and a "fan/like" page?

Personal Profile Page - You are only allowed 5000 friends per profile.
Fan Page - You are allowed an unlimited number of friends.

Personal Profile Page - You are expected to interact socially with others.
Fan Page - Business related content is expected.

Personal Profile Page - You are only allowed 1 profile per person. If you
have more than one and Facebook finds out, you will lose them all.
Fan Page - You are allowed multiple fan/like pages.

Personal Profile Page - Not much customization allowed.
Fan Page - Many different applications are available for customization.

Personal Profile Page - You can NOT message all of your friends at once.
Fan Page - You CAN message all of your fans at once.
