Prepare for the REAL Matcha Revolution...

Description: matchamain_textmedium

We've all heard the hype about green tea being good for us, which also helps explain the unprecedented recent explosion of green tea drinks, foods, supplements, even deserts.

But don't be fooled by clever back-of-bottle marketing such as, "Now with EGCG!" or the overused, "Contains green tea antioxidants!"....which makes it sounds like literally anything containing a microscopic amount of low-grade green tea extract is going to give you the kind of health benefits that true high-quality, whole-leaf, shade-grown, fresh Tencha-grade green tea can provide.

Not even close, no contest: imagine the difference between drinking water containing a small amount of old, processed, diluted orange juice-derived flavoring, compared to eating a...well, a whole organic orange, and the you get the idea.

Description: mpowder

Fortunately, more and more people are learning what many in Japan have known for centuries: to get the full benefits of the amazing green tea plant, the maximum impact, you have to "get the best and drink it whole": Matcha. Real, ceremonial-grade, Japanese Matcha.

And now that Matcha is finally starting to become available in the West, we may be at the very early rumblings of a Matcha Revolution -- based on the research and reported health benefits from this incredible green powder.

What is Matcha?

Real Matcha is the very high-quality, stone-ground powdered form of select shade-grown Japanese green tea leaves. It's like regular green tea on steroids, and then some: rather than just drinking green tea leaf-infused water, when you consume Matcha, you're actually getting the whole green tea leaf, and a very high quality green tea leaf at that (real Matcha is shade-grown, carefully prepared, hand-picked Tencha-grade), so you're drinking the full benefits of the best of the green tea leaf itself.

Countless studies over the years have illustrated the health benefits of green tea, and recently it seems like there's an explosion of new green tea findings: from lowering your risk of stroke to lowering cholesterol to fighting cancer to fighting cavities and gum disease to increasing mental clarity without the jittery effects of coffee. The list of potential benefits seems endless (we encourage you to do some research yourself...the massive list of researched health benefits is staggering).

Description: teapic1_textmedium

But here's the amazing thing that many don't know: high-grade Matcha green tea in particular is exponentially more powerful than regular brewed green teas, so it's like amplifying all of these wonderful health and mental benefits in as little as one comparative servingFor example, Matcha green tea has approximately70 times the antioxidants of orange juice, even higher than blueberries, and its unique EGCG catechin element (the subject of much current research) is one of the most powerful immune-boosting and anti-cancer substances known.

And guess what? Matcha green tea contains approximately 137 times the amount of EGCG as regular steeped green tea. Wow!

Imagine what that does to your brain and body if you drink it every day.

Of course, there's no one single cure all "superfood" that you should take at the expense of an overall healthy diet. Yet, you do have to wonder why the Japanese (particularly ritualistic Matcha-drinkers) seem to live longer than people elsewhere. And just how those Japanese monks are able to focus and concentrate intensely for 12-hour marathon meditation sessions. Maybe it's because they always drink matcha at the beginning of these sessions? Matcha is an integral, interwoven part of the religion, the meditation and ceremonies.

And they've been doing it for over 800 years.

Description: matchawhisk

But there are numerous other health benefits that you might not know about: several studies have shown it possess anti-viral and antibiotic properties, which assist with everything from digestion to killing harmful bacteria to helping prevent colds and flus. It increases your mental alertness and sharpness while also providing an almos tmeditative focusing, calming quality, which explains just why those monks in Asia have consumed Matcha religiously (pun intended), for over 800 years right before their long meditation sessions and ceremonies. It also has a naturally high vitamin C, flouride and chlorophyl content, among other vitamins and minerals, and nine times the beta carotene of spinach.

The list goes on, and we could go on. What else can we say other than it's good stuff.

So where to find Matcha? Good news, finally...

Fortunately, thanks to the recent health discoveries about Matcha combined

with increased awareness and outright demand in the West, a couple companies have now made it possible to get real Japanese high-grade Matcha outside of Japan.

But be warned: not all products labeled "Matcha" or "green tea powder" are real, true, high-quality shade-grown properly prepared tencha-based Matcha! The importance of the quality and sourcing cannot be overstated: some are just ground low-quality Sencha or Bancha leaves, some even add coloring or flavoring or sweeteners...even MSG! YUCK!

Alex Fraser's .tel business card

Alex Fraser is a senior Natureline Distributor who has long been ahead of the curve with his social media strategies, integrating them in to his business building techniques. He was recently featured in an industry publication talking about how his .tel domain helps him optimize his search engine results.

Fuel efficiency and .tel

Description: Alex Fraser

My name is Alex Fraser and I am based in Canada. I am and have been an official independent Bitron distributor of effective fuel efficiency products since Nov 1998 when I joined as an official distributor under N/A/T/O. As most clients contact me via the internet, being discoverable online is very important to me, although customers can also reach me in various other ways - by phone, skype, some advertising, etc.

I heard about .tel from George Moen, CEO of Blenz Coffee, in July 2010 and was intrigued, checked it out but did nothing. Then in late October I checked it out again and signed up with my domains alexwfraser.tel and alexfraser.tel. My wife Rhoda is also using .tel with rhodaross.tel and rosswintravel.tel, and these 4 domains are now entwined with each other.

I believe most people can benefit from a .tel digital business card in one way or another. For example, .tel has put my name up in the top of the search engines and regularly shows my variety of web sites. In the time that I have had my .tel site, we have had at least a dozen queries on my wife's YTB/ZamZuu site. This has been one result that has been quite noticeable.

Keeping things up to date is one of the major benefits of . tel for me, and I suspect that for those who desire to contact me can easily find my contact info on my .tel to do so. This becomes my digital business card which is much easier and cheaper to keep up to date that paper business cards. I think in future, .tel is going to be a good part of advertising on the internet. Getting this fine tuned is another story and effort.

Simply said, you can put your contact info on a .tel, keep it private for family access. It can or could be a back up for location of various essential documents, where they are kept. It is secure. It is also great I think for keeping in touch.

One secret to heart disease prevention may be your daily cup of tea, providing it's Green Tea

Mounting evidence suggests that Green Tea, a staple of many Asian
cultures, can help reverse some of the risk factors associated with
heart disease, such as high blood pressure (hypertension) and abnormal
blood clotting.

Much of the research on Green Tea has been conducted in Japan, where
men and women enjoy not only a high daily intake of Green Tea but also
one of the lowest incidences of heart disease in the world. Here is a
quick review of the heart benefits of Green Tea:

Lowering Blood Pressure. High blood pressure (hypertension) can be
caused by a number of factors, including poor diet, lack of exercise,
high stress levels, and genetic predisposition, among others. Drinking
Green Tea, however, can help counteract the effects of these risk
factors, research suggests.

When a group of mice was exposed to stressful, overcrowded conditions,
feeding them Green Tea kept their rising blood pressure under control.
The blood pressure lowering effects of Green Tea have been recorded in
humans as well. In a study of 20,000 middle-aged adults, blood
pressure decreased as Green Tea consumption increased.

Researchers speculate that Green Tea lowers blood pressure by causing
blood vessels to relax. One study assessed 54 substances - vegetables,
fruits, nuts, herbs, spices, and teas - for their ability to relax
blood vessels. Of these, Green Tea placed fifth, relaxing blood vessel
walls by as much as 91%.

Reducing Cholesterol. In a study of 1,371 Japanese men (age 40 and
older), researchers found that those who drank ten or more cups of
Green Tea daily had significantly lower cholesterol levels. According
to another study, men who drank nine cups of Green Tea or more daily
had cholesterol levels 8 mg/dl lower than those who drank only two
cups or less of Green Tea each day.

The reason is that Green Tea contains substances called cholesterol
inhibitors, explain Dr. Mitscher and Dolby. The cholesterol inhibitor
called EGCG creates an insoluble form of cholesterol, which can’t be
absorbed by the intestine and gets excreted through the feces instead,
Dr. Mitscher and Dolby say.

In animal studies, rats fed a high-cholesterol diet along with Green
Tea reduced their cholesterol absorption by as much as 33%. The effect
is similar for humans: another Japanese study found that human
participants who ate three egg yolks per day (a high daily intake of
cholesterol) were able to maintain healthy cholesterol levels by
drinking large amounts of Green Tea.

Protection Against Free Radicals. Free radicals are toxins in the body
that can seriously damage cells and degenerate organs; antioxidants
work against free radicals and block their destructive activities.
Green Tea contains polyphenols, which, as antioxidants, prevent free
radicals from oxidizing low-density lipoproteins (LDLs, the so-called
bad cholesterol) in the blood. LDL-cholesterol is one of the prime
targets of free radicals, Dr. Mitscher and Dolby note, and once LDL
cholesterol is oxidized, it becomes a very nasty substance. In fact,
free radical oxidization of cholesterol has been shown to damage blood
vessels.

Smokers, because they consume free radicals through tobacco smoke and
therefore sustain greater blood vessel damage through oxidation of LDL
cholesterol, provide the best opportunity to study Green Tea’s
antioxidant properties. In a Japanese study of 1,317 men, those who
smoked and drank at least ten cups of Green Tea daily showed amounts
of lipid peroxide (a marker for blood vessel damage) similar to those
of nonsmokers.

Prevents Abnormal Blood Clotting. If your body releases too many
clotting agents into the bloodstream, clots may form along blood
vessel walls. These clots constrict blood flow and can pose a serious
risk for heart attack and stroke.

Research has shown that Green Tea can prevent the formation of these
potentially harmful blood clots. Green Tea inhibits the production of
thromboxane (a modified type of fatty acid circulating in the
bloodstream), and low blood levels of thromboxane in turn inhibit clot
formation, according to Dr. Mitscher and Dolby. Animal studies have
confirmed that Green Tea reduces clotting, and some evidence suggests
that, much like aspirin, the cholesterol inhibitor present in Green
Tea (EGCG) also acts as an anticoagulant, or blood thinner.

One cup of green or black tea has more anti-oxidant power than
one-half cup of broccoli, carrots, spinach or strawberries.

In China and Japan, many epidemiological studies have found that tea
drinkers have a lower than average incidence of cancer. Over the past
decade, studies from other parts of the world have supported this
conclusion.

In a study involving 35,000 women in Iowa, those who drank at least
two cups of tea a day had 60% less kidney and bladder cancer and 32%
less cancer of the esophagus and colon. A 15-year study of men in the
Netherlands concluded that those who drank more than four cups of
Green Tea a day were 69% less likely than others to suffer a stroke.
In Ohio, a study by Dr. Hasan Mukhtar of Case Western Reserve
University found that mice which were given Green Tea and exposed to
chemical carcinogens or ultraviolet light developed 90% fewer tumors
than mice which were not given tea.

The mechanisms by which tea conveys its health benefits are not yet
fully understood. However, University of Kansas chemist Lester
Mitscher, Ph.D., maintains that, tea is the most powerful anti-oxidant
there is. According to studies at Tufts University, one cup of green
or black tea has more anti-oxidant power against the most common kind
of free radical in the body, the peroxyl radical, than one-half cup of
broccoli, carrots, spinach or strawberries. In numerous animal and
test-tube studies, compounds in tea called catechins have been
effective against a broad spectrum of cancers. Dr. Mitscher found that
one catechin, EGCG, was 100 times more potent than vitamin C and 25
times more potent than vitamin E. EGCG blocks an enzyme that tumors
use to grow new capillaries, explains Jerzy Jankun, a tumor biologist
at the Medical College of Ohio.

Studies of mice in Japan suggest that catechins also protect tissues
from sun damage, cigarette smoke, air pollutants and radiation. Some
bacteria seem susceptible to catechins as well. Asian studies have
shown that Green Tea inhibits bad breath, gum disease and tooth decay
in laboratory rats.

Two ongoing studies are further investigating tea’s anti-cancer
properties: Dr. Mitscher is studying the effects of the equivalent of
four cups of tea a day in women at high risk for breast cancer, and
patients at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston are being tested
for the effects of large quantities of tea on tumor shrinkage.

According to experiments by Dr. Mitscher, Green Tea has about twice
the anti-oxidant effect of black tea. Commercial tea preparations of
bottled iced tea or powdered tea mix have similar effects and
decaffeinated tea is also effective. Herbal infusions, like chamomile
or peppermint, are not true teas from the plant Camellia sinensis and
thus do not have the same healthful properties.

Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) is a highly popular beverage in China,
Japan, and Korea, and may constitute 20% of the world’s consumption of
tea. In recent years, food scientists have identified health benefits
connected to drinking tea. The primary chemical compounds found in
Green Tea are called polyphenolic catechins and represent 17-30% of
the dry weight of Green Tea leaves. Catechins are many times stronger
than vitamin E in defending the body against free radicals, thus
supporting the immune system’s responsiveness. They can reduce the
risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease as well as stomach,
pancreatic, and possibly lung cancer.

A Japanese study showed that Green Tea can significantly lower blood
pressure, reduce serum levels of LDL-cholesterol, and keep blood sugar
levels from rising inappropriately (as in diabetes and chronic
weight-gain conditions).Green Tea has an antibacterial activity that
helps inhibit dental plaque and cavity formation. It’s also been shown
to improve bowel regularity and to inhibit the activity of at least
eight food-borne bacteria. Clinical studies show that Green Tea
flavonols (the active bioflavonoids in the tea) may offer substantial
cancer protection if consumed on a regular basis.

What are anti-oxidants & why do I need them?

Antioxidants are substances or nutrients in our foods which can
prevent or slow the oxidative damage to our body. When our body cells
use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals (by-products) which
can cause damage.

Antioxidants act as "free radical scavengers" and hence prevent and
repair damage done by these free radicals.  Health problems such as
heart disease, macular degeneration, diabetes, cancer etc. are all
contributed by oxidative damage. Indeed, a recent study conducted by
researchers from London found that 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
reduce the risk of stroke by 25 percent. Antioxidants may also enhance
immune defense and therefore lower the risk of cancer and infection.

1 serving of FIX contains about 1/4 of the recommended daily
antioxidant intake, it tastes great and gives you an abundance of
energy and mental clarity!

Health Benefits and Medical Claims -I'm SICK! Sick and tired of bogus and inflated claims!

I think it is important to make sure we are absolutely clear that we
do not make outrageous health and medical claims when it comes to our
FIX tea. As great a product as it undoubtedly is there are not
sufficient peer reviewed research studies performed on FIX tea as of
yet that would support some of the outrageous medical claims that so
often sour the name of the health & wellness profession.

There is a wealth of information online from companies with vested
interests marketing their products much of it compiled with extreme
bias and certainly not peer reviewed.

I firmly believe that the vast majority are smart enough to review
this information for themselves in the context of its source and make
up their own mind when it comes to product efficacy. Though I also
believe that it is a responsibility that we must also ensure that the
more gullible and naïve in our society are protected from being swayed
by, and promulgating further, some of the more outrageous and
misleading rumours and claims.

I understand that the information contained in Wikipedia is not always
100% accurate but it is at least for the most part well intentioned
and importantly independently compiled and scrutinized.

Whereas FIX tea itself has not been researched to the extent that a
specific claim can or should be made of it, all of its ingredients
most certainly have.

Some of the peer reviewed research cited in Wikipedia indicates that
the ingredients can:

In the case of Green Tea:

“Reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, dental cavities, kidney
stones, and cancer, while improving bone density and cognitive
function.”

Reduced heart disease

Reduce cholesterol

Also improve insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance

Burn more fat - fat oxidation rates were 17% higher

Reduces systolic and diastolic Blood Pressure, fasting total
cholesterol, body fat and body weight.

Decreasing established potential cardiovascular risk factors

Helped to protect brain cells from dying, as well as 'rescuing'
already damaged neurons in the brain

Antimicrobial activity

Effectiveness in oral hygiene

90% lower occurrence of breast cancer

Effective in preventing glaucoma and other diseases of the eye.

Lower prevalence of depressive symptoms

Prevention or treatment of inflammatory processes

In lab tests, EGCG, found in green tea, was found to prevent HIV from
attacking T-Cells. However, it is not yet known if this has any effect
on humans

May prevent and reduce the severity of rheumatoid arthritis

Prevention and improvement of lifestyle-related diseases, mainly obesity.

Blueberries

May alleviate the cognitive decline occurring in Alzheimer's disease
and other conditions of aging

May help prevent urinary tract infections

Lowered cholesterol and total blood lipid levels, possibly affecting
symptoms of heart disease

Enhanced memory and learning in older adults, while reducing blood
sugar and symptoms of depression

Cranberries

Possible benefits to the cardiovascular system and immune system, and
as anti-cancer agents.[11] [12]

Inhibit and even reverse the formation of plaque by Streptococcus
pathogens that cause tooth decay.[13][14] Cranberry juice components
also show efficacy against formation of kidney stones.[15][16]

Shown promise as anti-cancer agents in in vitro studies

Cranberries had the largest amount of both free and total phenols,
with red grapes at a distant second place.[25] Cranberry tannins have
anti-clotting properties and may reduce urinary tract infections and
the amount of dental plaque-causing oral bacteria, thus being a
prophylaxis for gingivitis.[26]

Observed to have a relaxing effect, reducing stress.

Against bacterial infections in the urinary system.

Grape Seed Extract

May be useful to treat heart diseases such as high blood pressure and
high cholesterol.[1]

A polyphenol contained in grape seeds is resveratrol which may
interfere with cancer cell growth and proliferation, as well as induce
apoptosis, among a variety of potential chemopreventive effects.[3]
May also be active against HIV by inhibiting virus expression and
replication

Preliminary research shows that grape seed extract may have other
possible anti-disease properties, such as in laboratory models of

§  Wound healing—grape seed proanthocyanidins induced vascular
endothelial growth factor and accelerated healing of injured skin in
mice.[6]

§  Tooth decay --seed phenolics may inhibit oral sugar metabolism and
retard growth of certain bacteria causing dental caries.[7]

§  Osteoporosis -- grape seed extracts enhanced bone density and
strength in experimental animals.[8]

§  Skin cancer -- grape seed proanthocyanidins decreased tumor numbers
and reduced the malignancy of papillomas.[9]

§  Ultraviolet damage to skin—dietary proanthocyanidins may protect
against carcinogenesis and provide supplementation for sunscreen
protection.[10]

There is good evidence that grape seed extract can help treat chronic
venous insufficiency andedema.[11]

Currently, there are four clinical trials underway to assess the
effect of grape seed extracts on human breast cancer, blood estrogen
levels in postmenopausal women, and coronary artery disease.[12]

Black Currant

The fruit has extraordinarily high vitamin C content (302% of the
Daily Value per 100 g, table), good levels of potassium, phosphorus,
iron and vitamin B5, and a broad range of other essential nutrients

Other phytochemicals in the fruit (polyphenols/anthocyanins) have been
demonstrated in laboratory experiments with potential to inhibit
inflammation mechanisms suspected to be at the origin of heart
disease, cancer, microbial infections or neurological disorders like
Alzheimer's disease.[9][10]

Pomegranate

A traditional remedy against diarrhea, dysentery and intestinal parasites.

A tonic for the heart and throat.

In preliminary laboratory research and human pilot studies, juice of
the pomegranate was effective in reducing heart disease risk factors,
including LDL oxidation, macrophage oxidative status, and foam cell
formation,[36][37][38] all of which are steps in atherosclerosis and
cardiovascular disease.

In a limited study of hypertensive patients, consumption of
pomegranate juice for two weeks was shown to reduce systolic blood
pressure by inhibiting serum angiotensin-converting enzyme.[39] Juice
consumption may also inhibit viral infections[40] while pomegranate
extracts have antibacterial effects against dental plaque.[41][42]

While one study showed that, in a test tube, extracts of the fruit can
inhibit the proliferation of human breast cancer cells[43], no studies
have shown that eating pomegranates has any effect on the development
of breast cancer in humans.

In 2010, 23 clinical trials were registered with the National
Institutes of Health to examine effects of pomegranate extracts or
juice consumption on diseases shown below[48]

§  prostate cancer

§  prostatic hyperplasia

§  diabetes

§  lymphoma

§  rhinovirus infection (completed, July 2008)

§  common cold (completed, June, 2007)

§  oxidative stress in diabetic hemodialysis

§  atherosclerosis

§  coronary artery disease

§  infant brain injury

§  hemodialysis for kidney disease

Apple Pectin

An indigestible, soluble fiber, apple pectin is a general intestinal regulator.

Is effective in lowering cholesterol levels.

Acts as an antioxidant against the damaging portion of cholesterol in
the blood stream.

Apple pectin tends to increase acidity in the large intestines and is
advocated for those suffering from ulcer or colitis and for regulating
blood pressure. Pectin is also effective in causing regressions in and
preventing gallstones. There is also evidence that the regular use of
apple pectin may lessen the severity of diabetes.

Red Korean Ginseng

taken orally as adaptogens, aphrodisiacs, nourishing stimulants,[] and
in the treatment of type II diabetes, as well as for sexual
dysfunction in men.

Ginseng is noted for being an adaptogen (a product that increases the
body's resistance to stress)

P. ginseng appear to inhibit some characteristics associated with
cancer in animal models; nevertheless, this effect is unclear in
humans.[11] A randomized, double-blind pilot study noted Ginseng
appeared to reduce fatigue in cancer patients.[12]

May be "a promising dietary supplement" when assessed for an increase
in quality of life.[10]

Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng)

An adaptogen that has a wide range of health benefits attributed to
its use.[] Currently, most of the research to support the medicinal
use of E. senticosus is in Russian or Korean.[] E. senticosus contains
eleutherosides, triterpenoid saponins that are lipophilic and that can
fit into hormone receptors. Supporters[who?] of E. senticosus as
medicine claim that it possesses a variety of medicinal properties,
such as:

§  increased endurance

§  memory improvement

§  anti-inflammatory

§  immunogenic

§  chemoprotective

§  radiological protection

Taken regularly, it enhances immune function, decreases cortisol
levels and inflammatory response, and it promotes improved cognitive
and physical performance[]. In human studies, Eleuthero has been
successfully used to treat bone marrow suppression caused by
chemotherapy or radiation, angina, hypercholesterolemia, and
neurasthenia with headache, insomnia, and poor appetite.[5][6][7]

Acai

False claims include reversal of diabetes and other chronic illnesses,
as well as expanding size of the penis and increasing men's sexual
virility and sexual attractiveness to women.[6]As of June 2010, there
are no scientifically controlled studies backing up any of these
claims.

It is relatively high in polyphenol antioxidants in vivo though how
much is bioavailable is up for debate

Goji

Marketing literature for wolfberry products including several "goji
juices" suggest that wolfberry polysaccharides have extensive
biological effects and health benefits, although none of these claims
have been supported by peer-reviewed research.

Published studies have also reported possible medicinal benefits of
Lycium barbarum, especially due to its antioxidant properties,[27]
including potential benefits against cardiovascular and inflammatory
diseases,[28][29] vision-related diseases[30] (such as age-related
macular degeneration and glaucoma[31]), having neuroprotective
properties[32] or as an anticancer[33] and immunomodulatory agent.[34]

Mangosteen

An excellent source of Potassium. Potassium in the diet plays a vital
role in energy levels and heart health.

Beyond that not much peer reviewed research exists to substantiate the claims.

You will not that three of the most marketed fruit juices in recent
years listed here do not have a huge amount of legitimate research
substantiating any medical benefit!

Yerba Matte

Studies of mate, though very limited, have shown preliminary evidence
that the mate xanthine cocktail is different from other plants
containing caffeine most significantly in its effects on muscle
tissue, as opposed to those on the central nervous system, which are
similar to those of other natural stimulants. The three xanthines
present in mate have been shown to have a relaxing effect on smooth
muscle tissue, and a stimulating effect on myocardial (heart)
tissue.[18]

Mate also contains elements such as potassium, magnesium and manganese.[19]

In most studies,[20][21] Ilex paraguensis tea has been shown to lessen
the tendency towards obesity induced by a high-fat diet.

Consumption of yerba mate ( Ilex paraguariensis ) improves serum lipid
parameters in healthy dyslipidemic subjects and provides an additional
LDL-cholesterol reduction in individuals on statin therapy.[22]

Alfalfa

Alfalfa has been used as an herbal medicine for over 1,500 years.
Alfalfa is high in protein, calcium, plus other minerals, vitamins in
the B group, vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin K.[55][56]

In early Chinese medicines, physicians used young alfalfa leaves to
treat disorders related to the digestive tract and the kidneys.

In Ayurvedic medicine, physicians used the leaves for treating poor
digestion. They made a cooling poultice from the seeds for boils. At
the time, alfalfa was also believed to be helpful towards people
suffering from arthritis and water retention

Beet Extract

Beetroots are a rich source of potent antioxidants and nutrients,
including magnesium, sodium, potassium and vitamin C, and betaine,
which is important forcardiovascular health. It functions by acting
with other nutrients to reduce the concentration of homocysteine, a
homologue of the naturally occurring amino acid cysteine, which can be
harmful to blood vessels and thus contribute to the development of
disease, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease. Betaine functions in
conjunction with S-adenosylmethionine, folic acid, and vitamins B6 and
B12 to carry out this function.[2]

Additionally, several preliminary studies on both rats and humans have
shown betaine may protect against liver disease, particularly the
build up of fatty deposits in the liver caused by alcohol abuse,
protein deficiency, or diabetes, among other causes. The nutrient also
helps individuals with hypochlorhydria, a condition causing abnormally
low levels of stomach acid, by increasing stomach acidity.[2]

Beetroot juice has been shown to lower blood pressure and thus help
prevent cardiovascular problems. Research published in the American
Heart Association journal Hypertension showed drinking 500 ml of
beetroot juice led to a reduction in blood pressure within one hour.
The reduction was more pronounced after three to four hours, and was
measurable up to 24 hours after drinking the juice. The effect is
attributed to the high nitrate content of the beetroot. The study
correlated high nitrate concentrations in the blood following
ingestion of the beetroot juice and the drop in blood pressure.
Dietary nitrate, such as that found in the beetroot, is thought to be
a source for the biological nitric oxide, which is used by the
endothelium to signal smooth muscle, triggering it to relax. This
induces vasodilation and increased blood flow.[3]

Other studies have found the positive effects beetroot juice can have
on human exercise and performances. In studies conducted by the Exeter
University, scientists found cyclists who drank a half-litre of
beetroot juice several hours before setting off were able to ride up
to 20 per cent longer than those who drank a placebo blackcurrant
juice. [4]

Ginkgo Biloba

Extracts of Ginkgo leaves contain flavonoid glycosides and terpenoids
(ginkgolides, bilobalides) and have been used pharmaceutically. Ginkgo
supplements are usually taken in the range of 40–200 mg per day.
Recently, careful clinical trials have shown Ginkgo to be ineffective
in treating dementia or preventing the onset of Alzheimer's Disease in
normal people.[30][31]

Rooibos

Rooibos is purported to assist with nervous tension, allergies and
digestive problems.[5]

Traditional medicinal uses of rooibos in South Africa include
alleviating infantile colic, allergies, asthma and dermatological
problems

Although human studies of rooibos are scarce in scientific literature,
animal studies suggest it has potent antioxidant, immune-modulating
and chemopreventive effects. In addition, rooibos tea has not been
found to have any adverse effects

Stevia

For centuries, the Guaraní tribes of Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil used
stevia, which they called ka'a he'ê ("sweet herb"), as a sweetener in
yerba mate and medicinal teas for treating heartburn and other
ailments.[11] More recent medical research has shown promise in
treating obesity[12] and hypertension.[13][14] Stevia has a negligible
effect on blood glucose, even enhancing glucose tolerance;[15]
therefore, it is attractive as a natural sweetener to diabetics and
others on carbohydrate-controlled diets.[16]

Possible treatment of osteoporosis has been suggested by the patent
application claim that eggshell breakage can be reduced by 75% by
adding a small percentage of stevia leaf powder to chicken feed.[17]
It has also been suggested that pigs fed stevia extract had twice as
much calcium content in their meat, but these claims have been
unverified.[18]

Vitamin C

Vitamin C functions as an antioxidant and is necessary for the
treatment and prevention of scurvy, though in nearly all cases dietary
intake is adequate to prevent deficiency and supplementation is not
necessary.[120][121][122][123][124][125]

Vitamin C may also be useful in lowering serum uric acid levels
resulting in a correspondingly lower incidence of gout,[126] and an
oxidized version that can cross the blood-brain barrier may reduce
neurological deficits and mortality following a stroke.[127] There is
suggestive evidence vitamin C may be useful in the treatment of
pneumonia.[128]

Vitamin C's effect on the common cold has been extensively researched
and shown not to have so much effect as was supposed.[8][9]

So all that being said, we cannot say a cup of FIX a day will keep the
doctor away, much less cure cancer, arthritis, diabetes etc, etc, etc…
but, unless you are already getting all the phytonutrients and
antioxidants and daily fruits and vegetables you need in your diet,
that all research indicates maximises your longevity and well-being,
why not add a cup of FIX into your daily regimen?

Take personal responsibility. Do your own due diligence and make up

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I HAVE AN INCREDIBLY SERIOUS QUESTION

TO ASK YOU ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS...

WARNING>>>>  I'm gonna make you mad.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This might smack you where it hurts.  I'm warning you.

It is going to make you ANGRY.

If you aren't making much, you are making very little, or you are making zip, when

are you going to get FED UP with it and CHANGE what you are doing?

K...here it comes again.  If you a fat pig and you know you are

(figuratively...and literally speaking), and you'd LIKE TO GET SKINNY and be HEALTHIER, when is a good time to start taking action?

Don't get pissed off at me if you are fat and don't like it.  We all have mirrors.  Pretty easy to tell if we don't look good by just opening our eyes and looking.  If you ARE getting mad at what I am saying...that's good!

In fact, I want you to get pissed off at me.  I want you to get angry at me.  Get mad at you.  Get steaming angry.  Let the veins begin to burst in your neck and in your head.  Get so frickin' pissed off that you can't stand it any more.

You there yet?  GOOD!  Because THAT is EXACTLY what it takes to get MOVED into ACTION!!!!!!!  You've got to get so fed up with where you are that you cannot take it one second more.

Whether we are talking about you "physically" losing weight or YOU FINALLY BUSTING OUT OF THE BOX ONCE AND FOR ALL IN YOUR NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS.

Get fed up.  Get pissed.  Be angry.  Be moved.

Fat and happy no more.

I'm not buying this garbage...and neither should you!

- I have big bones.

- My metabolism is slow.

- I am meant to be fat.

- My body just holds onto it.

Have you seen "THE BIGGEST LOSER" yet?  Get my point?

Nor should you buy this story...

- I'm meant to be broke.

- I don't deserve to make much.

- I'm not worth it.

That is pure CRAP!  Yes you are.  You ARE worth it!

Tired of your results.  I hope it hurts.  I really hope it makes you cry.  I hope you get so mad from this email that you MOVE into action.

How does it feel having no check?  How does it feel being broke?  How does it feel when you have to tell yourself or your kids "we can't afford it"?

I hope it pains you.  I hope it burns.

It is that BURNING SENSATION that will DRIVE YOU INTO ACTION, where you are MOVED to DO SOMETHING about it.

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE...

What IF you had only one chance to change the direction of your life and that chance was today?  Would you do something...or just let the opportunity pass you by and have to suffer the anguish of "average" for the rest of your life?

This IS your last chance for ME to MOTIVATE YOU, HELP you, and inspire you into action during my 12-week Accountability Program (A-Team) that starts on Monday January 17th.

Are you fed up enough with your results where you are finally ready for someone like me to push you into action.  You ready to "put your money where your mouth is."

Please tell me that you are not one of those people who simply flap their jaws about how serious they are about making life change, but are only all talk and no action.

Look. Being broke sucks the big one.  Been there.  Done that.  Don't feel good.

Look at it this way.  I'll be your PERSONAL TRAINER FOR BUSINESS for the next 12-weeks.  I'll PUSH YOU, PULL YOU, SUPPORT YOU and teach you for the next 3-months, helping you to get into MASSIVE ACTION once and for all.

Look at it this way.  It's $499 to do the deal.  You're either going to invest the $499 and create some serious change, or you're going to be in the same place, making the same excuses you've been making 12-weeks from now.

Which one is it going to be?

Today is your last day to get in.  It starts Monday.  Do it.

By the way...if you're pissed off at me and want to remove yourself from my list because of this message, then this message is probably specifically meant to be read by you.

See you tonight at 5pm Pacific Time.

Love you!

Protective properties of green tea uncovered - Brand new research from my home town University confirms benefits!

Regularly drinking green tea could protect the brain against developing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

The study, published today in the academic journal Phytomedicine, also suggests this ancient Chinese remedy could play a vital role in protecting the body against cancer.

Led by Dr Ed Okello, the Newcastle team wanted to know if the protective properties of green tea – which have previously been shown to be present in the undigested, freshly brewed form of the drink – were still active once the tea had been digested.

Digestion is a vital process which provides our bodies with the nutrients we need to survive. But, says Dr Okello, it also means that just because the food we put into our mouths is generally accepted to contain health-boosting properties, we can’t assume these compounds will ever be absorbed by the body.

“What was really exciting about this study was that we found when green tea is digested by enzymes in the gut, the resulting chemicals are actually more effective against key triggers of Alzheimer’s development than the undigested form of the tea,” explains Dr Okello, based in the School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development at Newcastle University and executive director of the university's Medicinal Plant Research Group.

“In addition to this, we also found the digested compounds had anti-cancer properties, significantly slowing down the growth of the tumour cells which we were using in our experiments.”

As part of the research, the Newcastle team worked in collaboration with Dr Gordon McDougall of the Plant Products and Food Quality Group at the Scottish Crop Research Institute in Dundee, who developed technology which simulates the human digestive system.

It is this which made it possible for the team to analyse the protective properties of the products of digestion.

Two compounds are known to play a significant role in the development of Alzheimer’s disease – hydrogen peroxide and a protein known as beta-amyloid.

Previous studies have shown that compounds known as polyphenols, present in black and green tea, possess neuroprotective properties, binding with the toxic compounds and protecting the brain cells.

When ingested, the polyphenols are broken down to produce a mix of compounds and it was these the Newcastle team tested in their latest research.

“It’s one of the reasons why we have to be so careful when we make claims about the health benefits of various foods and supplements,” explains Dr Okello.

“There are certain chemicals we know to be beneficial and we can identify foods which are rich in them but what happens during the digestion process is crucial to whether these foods are actually doing us any good.”

Carrying out the experiments in the lab using a tumour cell model, they exposed the cells to varying concentrations of the different toxins and the digested green tea compounds.

Dr Okello explained: “The digested chemicals protected the cells, preventing the toxins from destroying the cells.

“We also saw them affecting the cancer cells, significantly slowing down their growth. Green tea has been used in Traditional Chinese medicine for centuries and what we have here provides the scientific evidence why it may be effective against some of the key diseases we face today.”

The next step is to discover whether the beneficial compounds are produced during digestion after healthy human volunteers consume tea polyphenols. The team has already received funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to take this forward.

Dr Okello adds: “There are obviously many factors which together have an influence on diseases such as cancer and dementia - a good diet, plenty of exercise and a healthy lifestyle are all important.

“But I think it’s fair to say that at least one cup of green tea every day may be good for you and I would certainly recommend it.”

Things you maybe didn't know about Rooibos! A key ingredient in FIX Tea & Nature FX

Rooibos

Aspalathus linearis

Description

Rooibos is a member of the legume family of plants. The rooibos shrub can grow up to 2 meter in height. The erects red coloured rooibos stems contain many dark green needle shaped leaves. The rooibos shrub produces small yellow flowers in spring through early summer. Each flower produces a one seeded small bean. Roobos has a long tap root, sometimes up to 2 m in length, enabling the plant to survive periods of drought.

Parts used

Only the rooibos leaves and twigs are used. Rooibos leaves are harvested in summer, cut or chopped and are left to ferment. During the fermentation of the rooibos leaves, some chemicals are oxidized by enzymes resulting in the typical red colour and flavour of rooibos. Unfermented rooibos tea is also used and contains more antioxidants. Unfermented rooibos tea has a yellow color rather than the red colour of fermented rooibos.

Phytochemicals

Aspalathin, Nothofagin, Caffeic Acid, Chrysoeriol, Isoquercitrin, Orientin, Isoorientin, Luteolin, Vitexin, Isovitexin, Luteolin, Rutin, Flavonoids, Quercetin, Polyphenols

Medicinal properties

Rooibos has anti-carcinogenic and antimutagenic effects. Rooibos tea is used for its anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. Consumption of rooibos tea may relief fever, asthma, insomnia, colic in infants and skin disorders. Rooibos extracts are used in ointments against eczema. In South Africa it is very common to give rooibos tea to babies who suffer from stomach cramps (colics).

Rooibos is the only known source of the phytochemical aspalathin. In vitro and animal studies have indicated that quercetin and luteolin help to prevent cardiovascular disease, some cancers and stroke. Rutin has been associated with the maintenance of blood vessels walls.
Because rooibos contains no caffeine, it is suited for babies and children. The low level of tannins in rooibos will prevent problems with iron absorption.

Sasaki YF et all (Mutat Res 1993;286:221-232) showed in their study ' The clastogen-suppressing effects of green tea, Po-lei tea and Rooibos tea in CHO cells and mice' that fermented rooibos tea reduced cancer-associated changes in animal cells induced by the certain mutagens both in vitro and in vivo. Other researchers found that rooibos extracts from fermented rooibos leaves reduced cancerous transformation of mouse cells irradiation with x-rays. They found that extracts from unfermented green rooibos tea did not show this protective effect.

Other facts

Rooibos is grown only in the Cedarberg area and around the villages Clanwilliam and Citrusdal, which are situated to the north of Cape Town in South Africa. Efforts to cultivate rooibos in other areas or countries with similar climates have failed. Apparently rooibos needs a very specific climate and soil to grow. Rooibos tea has always been very popular in South Africa. To make the popular rooibos tea, the dried rooibos leaves are boiled in water and is often consumed with milk. Rooibos tea is much appreciated because it does not contain caffeine and is low in tannins.

Other names

Rooibos tea plant, red bush, red tea.
